London, 30 Jan (TAG) – Kate Middleton
sparked rumors that she was pregnant towards the end of last year when she
declined to taste a peanut paste while on a charity visit, but there's no need
to get excited because Kate and Wills aren't in a rush to have a baby.
The Royal couple, who married in April last year, have put their plans
to start a family on hold while they celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee this
year.
Prince William, who will be leaving the country for a tour of duty in
the Falkland Islands, and his wife Kate haven't got "time" for a baby
yet.
A source told Now magazine, "Realistically there is not
going to be time for a baby and they have said they are in no hurry. There is
no urgent need for an heir - we already have two. William and Kate want to take
things in their own good time."
While William is away, the Duchess of Cambridge will be making her own
charity appearances. "The Duchess will have a handful of engagements while
the Duke is away," a spokesman told The Mail On Sunday.
"She will visit all her patronages publicly
at least once and continue to visit them privately. It will be a busy
period."
Meanwhile, as
both a Brit and a Royal, Kate has more opportunities than most to wear hats.
And most would agree that she wears them very well.
So it comes as little
surprise that The Headwear Association has named her its 'Hat Person of the
Year'. 91 per
cent of the California-based organization's members voted for her in an online
poll, placing her ahead of U.S. celebrities Rachel Zoe and Ne-Yo.
In fact, one wonders why
anyone else even got a vote. As far as hats are concerned, there could not be a
more fitting winner. Since her engagement in November 2010, the Duchess's
impact on the millinery industry has been enormous.
Kate has raised the
profile, not only of established names like Philip Treacy and Sylvia Fletcher
of Lock & Co, but also little-known designers such as Rose Cory and Vivien
Sheriff.
And though the engagements
for which she chooses to wear hats are not unusual - church services, weddings
and Royal Ascot - her sartorial influence has inspired many people to sport
formal headwear for all manner of special occasions.

Now though, milliners are
enjoying a boom thanks to 'the Kate effect'.
Jenny Pfanenstiel, of Forme
Millinery in Chicago said: 'Kate has allowed American women to know what
fascinators are and to feel more comfortable and confident about wearing hats
in public.'
A post on The Headwear
Association's blog, announcing the news today, described Catherine's style as
'impeccable', citing her burgundy hat by Rose Cory and maple leaf headpiece by
Sylvia Fletcher as favourites.
Justin Timberlake, Bruno
Mars and Charlie Sheen were also among the names on the shortlist, claiming one
per cent of the vote each.[]
